Audit Modernization Data

Software audit & architecture validation

Doubts about your code, your architecture or the processing of your data? As a consulting engagement, we audit your software in depth and deliver a clear report: strengths, prioritized risks and actionable recommendations.

The problem

The questions that keep coming up among our clients before an important decision:

  • Is our code healthy and maintainable — or are we sitting on a ticking time bomb?
  • Will our architecture handle the expected load and growth?
  • Is the processing of our data correct, secure, compliant (nFADP, GDPR)?
  • We're being offered a costly rewrite: is it really necessary?
  • We're taking over code from a vendor (or an acquired company): what are we actually buying?

Answering these questions requires an external, structured and independent perspective. That's exactly what an audit is for.

Our approach: a structured consulting engagement

  1. Scoping: what are your questions, your stakes, your constraints? The audit is sized to answer them — not to produce a 200-page report nobody will read.
  2. Code and architecture analysis: code quality and readability, technical debt, dependencies and their obsolescence, test coverage, weak points, security review (authentication, secrets, attack surface), and the architecture's ability to scale.
  3. Data processing: mapping of flows and storage, data quality and consistency, backups, retention, access — assessed against the Swiss nFADP and the GDPR where applicable.
  4. Debrief: a presentation session with your team and management, Q&A included.

What the report contains

  • Strengths: what is well done and should be preserved
  • Prioritized risks: ranked by impact and probability, with their cost of inaction
  • Actionable recommendations: quick wins (days) vs structural projects (weeks/months)
  • Effort estimates: for each recommendation, a realistic order of magnitude
  • Expert opinion: maintain, fix, or rebuild — with arguments

Architecture validation: before you build

An audit isn't only retrospective. Before a major project, we validate your architecture choices: technologies, scalability, deployment model, projected cloud costs, data strategy. One week of validation can save months of heading in the wrong direction.

What you gain

  • Informed decisions: you know where you stand, with evidence
  • An independent perspective: we don't sell the rewrite we recommend — or don't recommend
  • A prioritized roadmap, directly usable for planning and budgeting
  • Arguments for your management, investors or customers

Who is it for?

CIOs and IT managers before a rewrite, SMEs taking over existing code, growing companies doubting their architecture, executives preparing a software investment. Tell us about your situation: we'll propose an audit format that fits — from a few days to a few weeks.

Does this case resonate with you?

Every situation is unique: tell us yours, and we'll propose an approach and a quote — with no obligation.
